What a weekend of sport, September is the month which sees a lot of sports moving towards the final rounds. No doubt the talk in the Rugby League world is the NRL finals series happening. What a weekend it was in the NRL and what’s ahead is definitely sure to keep fans on edge.
Bronx Nation is in damage control for all sort of reasons. Finals history saw one of the most successful clubs in the NRL also write the history books at the hands of a red-hot electrifying Parra Eels 58–0. The questionable effort or lackluster efforts from the Sharks also seeing them bow out of the race against a depleted Manly. Grit and grind are elements of the Canberra Raider – Green Machine. The Viking clap sounding loudest, humbling finals stalwarts Melbourne Storm at Olympic Park.
This weekend. You tell me! Parra or Storm? The Storm will no doubt be at their meticulous best to tidy up on the little areas and have more defensive presence against the side to side Eels. Eels firing at will. I’d love to see them continue the 100 miles-an-hour start and continue this if they are to displace the Storm’s conservativeness.
Is the wily Wayne Bennett up to some coaching tact? He played a few players in different areas. Is he going on record and history of previous rounds and managing his teams performances? Manly – Des Hassler knows how to grind and create nothing’s in to everything’s. You decide!
The Rugby World Cup is here!! No doubt PNG will be embracing with the rest of the world. Japan hosting the Rugby World Cup will be treating it’s guests to culture and splendor as it is a country with great tradition. Wales are the European favourites, All Blacks are the Southern Hemisphere tip, Argentina on a 50-1 odds of winning. Throw in our Pacific Melanesian brothers Fiji who are at 500-1 odds of winning.
Host Japan play Russia in Tokyo to open the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
All Blacks and the Springboks will be the clash of the titans in the first round of heavies.
Sit tight and absorb the next few weeks of rugby on display.
That’s all for me this Friday.
Whatever you’re doing – Play Fair and Play Safe.
