Easy Puffed Doughnuts

Try this yummy Puffed Doughnuts recipe by @SavourDessert


  • 3 1/3 cups plain flour
  • 3 teaspoon dry yeast
  • 1/4 Cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup warm milk
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 100g butter, melted


  • Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl, make a well in the center, add in the wet ingredients and mix until well combined, turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Place the dough back into the bowl and cover with tea towel. Set aside for an hour or until dough has risen and doubled in size.
  • Deflate the dough and knead on a clean surface for about 2 minutes. Roll the dough out thinly and cut into rectangular pieces.
  • Heat oil in a large deep frying, fry the dough pieces until golden brown, drain on wire rack.
  • Serve

The best thing about this is, you can go either way with those beauties. They can be part of a savoury dish as curry, mince or stew or they can be transformed into a dessert by dipping them into chocolate sauce or fill them with custard or ice them with icing sugar..etc…so many possibilities.
