WWII remains repatriated

Sunday 10th of June saw the repatriation of the remains of United States servicemen who lost their lives during World War II. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPPA) of the United States is in charge of searching for servicemen and women who are missing in action from their nations conflicts dating back as far as World War 2.

An emotional ceremony which included the presence of US ambassador to PNG Ebert Gray and military personnel from both PNG and United States on Sunday at the Jacksons International Airport.  The DPPA will transport the remains to a laboratory in Hawaii where the difficult task of identification will begin.
