Female Executive awarded Best HR Practitioner

On Thursday 20th June 2019, Bank South Pacific’s top female executive Hari Rabura was awarded the “2018 Best HR Practitioner of the Year” by the PNG Human Resources Institute (PNGHRI).

Ms Rabura is the bank’s General Manager, Human Resources. She was one of the first female employees within BSP to reach executive management level and later appointed to General Manager, Human Resources.

Ms Rabura thanked PNGHRI for recognising her among many other best HR Practitioners in PNG. “It is a tremendous honour as I stand before you to receive this prestigious award.”

“As part of an organisation that promotes the core value of Teamwork, People, Professionalism and Leadership, I give credit to my 40 strong HR team members who look after and manage over 4,000 employees across PNG, the Pacific and South East Asia,” said Ms Rabura said, shortly after receiving her award and that for BSP.

“These awards are a testament to the values and vision of our employer, Bank South Pacific, where it takes lead in Human Resource Development; providing equal opportunities for men and women to grow professionally and provide pathways for staff to advance in their career,” said Ms Rabura.

Ms Rabura is a member of the BSP Leadership & Management Development (LMDP) cohort and in the LMDP program has so far undergone training in INSEAD Business School, Melbourne Business School. 

Ms Rabura joined BSP as a graduate trainee in 2001 and moved up the ladder, left BSP in 2006 to advance her career with various companies before returning to BSP in 2014. She was appointed Deputy General Manager, Human Resources in 2014, and subsequently appointed to her current role in April 2016.
