Prime Minister Marape, in officially launching the DHERST online HELP system, said he was extremely proud of the initiative and acknowledged Minister Kuman and the Department for putting in the hard work behind the vision to see HELP implemented in the country.

Marape said “the government is trying to reinvigorate the education space, creating a pool of funds that is available so that Papua New Guinean children are not leaving schools simply because they don’t have money, or they can’t afford higher education, hence the need for us to implement HELP at the very earliest”.

As a result of today’s launch, the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) registration portal and information on the program is now online on the DHERST website.
