An introductory meeting took place with Newcrest Mining’s newly appointed General Manager Peter Sharpe and the New Ireland Provincial Government at the New Ireland Legislative Assembly Building on Tuesday 12 January 2021.

Among the discussions, New Ireland Governor Sir Julius Chan highlighted the rise in the price of gold and the allocation of the super profit with all stakeholders which includes the state, landowners and the province which is providing the wealth.

Another ongoing demand of the Provincial Government has been to ensure the construction of a ring road around Lihir Island becomes a reality. Newcrest has agreed to have more open dialogue with the Provincial Government and endeavors to have quarterly meetings with the Provincial Executive Council going forward.

Sharpe was accompanied by country manager Stanley Komunt, Government Relations Advisor Josh Kais, consultant Barone Isanah, and Communication and Public Relations Manager Ruth Waram.

  1. I have observed that in old digital cameras, special sensors help to {focus|concentrate|maintain focus|target|a**** automatically. The sensors regarding some camcorders change in contrast, while others employ a beam with infra-red (IR) light, particularly in low lumination. Higher specification cameras occasionally use a mix of both methods and may have Face Priority AF where the digicam can ‘See’ any face while focusing only on that. Thank you for sharing your notions on this web site.
