Morobe Police Reservist Program initiated

The Morobe Police Reservist Program is a direct intervention of the Governor for Morobe, Hon. Ginson Saonu, seeing the need for police manpower and presence in the 33 LLGs of Morobe Province.

Whilst presenting the keys for the vehicles that will be used for the Police Reservist Program, Governor Saonu emphasized that the program will contribute in creating a conducive environment for law, order and peace, exposing the Morobe’s huge tourism potential, which in turn will result in employment and investment opportunities.

The MOU of the Program was signed between the Police Ministry, Police Commissioner and the Provincial Police Command with the Northern Command Division under the command of ACP Peter Guiness.

The first 120 selected cadets meeting strict criteria and from Morobe province will undergo an extensive 3 months of training before being dispatched to respective LLGs within the province. The program is operated by Former Police Commissioner Mr Sam Inguba and the new training barracks located at Gusap.
