Bulolo Highway Rehabilitation Launched

The Bulolo Highway in the Morobe province will soon be receiving much need maintenance and development thanks to the recently launched 66 million kina Bulolo Highway rehabilitation project. Prime Minister Hon. James Marape officiated the event in Morobe Province on Friday June 18 2021.

PM Marape highlighted the signigicance of the Bulolo Highway apart from giving access in service to the people of Bulolo and the Morobe Province, it also hosted many important projects like Zenag Chicken and Bulolo Forest Products. The highway is now crucial to the nation’s economy with the up-coming Wafi Gold Mine and the existing Hidden Valley Mine, it is a right decision by the National Government.

The Bulolo Highway is supported by the Australian Government under the Transport Sector Support Program (TSSP) managed by the Department of Works.

In the Education sector, PM Marape announced a National Government commitment of K1 million for the Bulolo District Education sector on top of the normal Government District Service Improvement Program (DSIP) funding.

He said the National Government would make that funding available through the National Gaming and Control Board (NGCB).

PM Marape told hundreds of people who gathered at Wau that the Government wanted to open up the country by roads under the Connect PNG 2020-2040 Road Plan.

PM Marape urged the people to take care of Government funded projects, work their land and get themselves involved in activities that would benefit them and their families and not to go into drugs and criminal activities.
