Women’s Rugby 7s
PNG too strong for Solomon Islands winning 53-0. PNG then went down to Fiji 38-5.
Cricket
PNG Men beat New Caledonia by 10 wickets. PNG Women beat Fiji by six wickets.
Both teams will play for gold tomorrow. PNG Men vs Vanuatu, PNG Women vs Samoa.
Weightlifting
Lorraine Harry in the Women’s 87kg event won 2 silvers and 1 bronze. Noi Bernadett Igo in the 81kg events also won 2 silvers and 1 bronze.
Women’s Soccer
PNG defeated Tahiti 4-0.
Women’s 5×5 Basketball
PNG went down to Fiji 78-58.
Tennis
Womens Team Event
PNG victorious against Samoa, winning Gold. Violet and Abigail proved too strong in the end with 6-3, 6-0.
Men’s Team Event
PNG won silver. Mark Gibbons and Mathew Stubbings did very well however Northern Marianas came out on top.
Table Tennis
Mixed Doubles
Geoffrey Loi and Leah Taru of PNG came out successful over Vanuatu 3 games to 2. Mixed doubles team now advance to the semi finals for the gold medal playoff.
