The 2021 Digicel Cup season was officially launched today in the nation’s capital where 12 teams will again compete for the next 16 weeks of regular competition before the finals which will add to 20 weeks infor the 2021 season.
PNGRFL CEO Stanley Hondina speaking at the soft launch thanked the pandemic controller and the government for having the confidence in the competition resuming again. Hondina stating that Lae and Pom will be the two provinces that will host the games and matches will be closed off from the public until further notice.
Round 1 will commence this Saturday at the Oil Search National Footbal Stadium (OSNFS) with the Agmark Gurias up against the JPG Waghi Tumbe and the Moniplus NCDC Vipers vs Kimbe Cutters.
Sunday’s matches at the OSNFS Kroton Hela Wigmen vs Goroka Lahanis PRK Gulf Isou vs CPG Central Dabaris. The Double Header in Lae will be EPG Enga Mioks taking on the PRK Mendi Muruks and the host Lae Snax Tigers will go up against the Wamp Nga Mt Hagen Eagles
