A second-half come back has seen the PNG Hunters defeat the Tweed Heads Seagulls 20 points to 16 at the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby this afternoon.

Trailing 14-0 at Half time, it took a courageous team effort to come from behind to win, with Terry Wapi being instrumental in the Hunters fight back.

The Hunters bench was crucial in setting the platform and busts to get Hunters on the front foot. With their halves still needing to gel and control the attack, the Hunters also need to greatly improve on their kicking game if they are to secure any more victories in the remainder of the Intrust Super Cup 2019 season.

All Intrust Super Cup teams have a State of Origin Bye next weekend, with a few Hunters players playing in the newly named Kumuls squad to play in the Pacific Test against Samoa in Sydney on Saturday June 22. See the squad announcement here.

The next game for the Hunters is the Round 15 game against the Northern Pride in Cairns on Sunday June 30.
