Sese Bau has steered PNG to a much needed five-wicket win over the Netherlands today, making it 3 wins from 4 games for the Barras, who take first place again in Pool A.

The Netherlands batted first and made 7/126 off their 20 overs. In reply, PNG’s batsmen stuttered in the middle overs, especially against the spinners.

However it was Bau who pulled the Barras through at the end, collecting a four off the fifth ball of the penultimate over, wrapping up with an over to spare, PNG finishing with 5/127 off 19 overs.

Top of the pool automatically qualifies for the T20 World Cup in Australia next year.

PNG has the following 2 games remaining…

  • 25 October: v Singapore, Dubai International Cricket Stadium
  • 27 October: v Kenya, Dubai International Cricket Stadium
