Lae Hockey will come alive this Sunday with the Minkey Hockey playing their grand finals as curtain raisers to the men’s and women’s grand finals respectively.
This comes after a 12 week intensive induction program.
In the women’s encounter, old rivals Poromeri will take on the surprise pack of Sandpipers. Sandpipers are boosted with PNG Reps in Kari Raurela, Caroline Mulina and Alice Fred. Sisters Symone and Kymora Kaisa will be manning the front line, while mum Josepha will be in goal. Poromeri will rely on mother-daughter combination of Jessica and Vanessa Parry
In the Men’s grand final, newcomers Asi Duah will lock horns with the in-form Poroman The Poroman youngsters will rely on Manu Parry, Kemas and fire power from Garfield Polly at the front. Veteran Goalie the club mentor will be hard to pass for an easy goal.
Asi Duah will be banking on senior players in the like of Patrick Paine, William Bon, John Hebei and Kimmins Hebei in the forwards.Team Morobe goalie Simon Ketchanie will be heavily guarded with some of the best backline players this year.
The Finals will be followed by the official presentation at 3pm witnessed by PNG hockey executives, team Morobe and sponsor representatives.
Gates open at 8am, Adults K2.00, Kids/Players Free.
