PNG Dataco have today announced that the landing of Kumul Submarine Cable Network (KSCN) in PNG’s Western Province on Tuesday 2nd June 2020 marks the completion of the laying of the 5,457 km cable system.
The project now moves into system integration, testing and commissioning.
PNG Dataco CEO Paul Komboi said in his announcement on Linkedin “Connectivity of KSCN is completed! We are now undertaking tests and commissioning for the next month before activation of live services.”
“Big commendation to the DataCo Team and its contractors for your hard work and achievement!”
DataCo plans to complete this work in the coming weeks and bring the cable system into use in July 2020.
PNG Dataco will make further announcements on the ready-for-service date and official launching of the network.
