International Tourist Ship MV Boudicca called in to Wewak this week with tourists from all over England on board. The cruise sailed through from to Cairns to Alotau, onto Madang before stopping over at the East Sepik capital.
Visitors from the tourist boat disembarked and walked the streets of Wewak complimenting the town’s roads, friendly locals, clean beaches, beautiful artifacts and organic food. Particular interest was shown toward the Sago tree and the fact that the whole tree is utilised by people for food and their livelihood.
MV Boudicca is a cruise ship owned and operated in the United Kingdom by Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, built in 1973. The ship and it’s passengers departed Wewak for Bali Indonesia.
