Meet Lorraine Sapu. A young mum of 3 who is working from home using her natural gifts, talents and a whole lot of passion for creating homemade hand crafts and beautiful decorations for the home, office, any occassion or special events.
Lorraine is a Port Moresby resident who comes from a parentage of Enga and Eastern Highlands Province. She began her journey about two years ago in 2018 when she decided to create her small business called ‘Mulaiz Hand Craft’.
PNG BUZZ had a chat with Lorraine and when asked how it all started for her, this is what she had to say; “I used to travel overseas and bring back stuff into the country to sell, just like a lot of other PNG Ladies, but I wanted to do something a little more hands-on… I wanted to do something more and a little different you know, so I started collecting duty free bottles and wine bottles to decorate. One day I was going through Pinterest and I came across all these beautiful bottle decorations and I decided to try that out.”
After doing a great job on her first few decorations, Lorraine realised she had found her passion because as she described it in her own words; “I enjoyed every bit of it. Every touch is something new, every touch is original – it’s my own and I love it”.
Lorraine’s little journey as she humbly puts it, is made possible also by her 3 beautiful kids’ by her side, supporting her.
