ICCC launches informational brochures

The Independent Consumer and Competition Commission (ICCC) has launched 24 informational, communication, and educational (ICE) materials aimed at providing businesses and the general public detailed information about the roles and responsibilities of the ICCC.

ICCC Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, Paulus Ain said the documents included 22 brochures and two posters that explained in detail the various roles and responsibilities of the ICCC.

Being in operations for 18 years, these informational brochures and posters are important tools for the ICCC to explain to all its stakeholders including the government, businesses and consumers about how the ICCC fulfills its statutory mandate.

Commissioner Ain added that the producing of more informational content about the ICCC was one of the significant recommendations set out in the government sanctioned Consumer and Competition Framework Review which reviewed Papua New Guinea’s consumer and competition legislative landscape.

Due to COVID19 restrictions, most of the ICCC’s awareness programs planned for 2021 have been scaled down and one way for the ICCC to continue its awareness programs was by disseminating these ICE materials through the ICCC websites and social media pages so that the government, businesses and consumers are informed and comply with laws administered by the ICCC.

Copies of the ICCC’s informational brochures and posters are feely available at the ICCC’s offices in Port Moresby, Lae, Kokopo, and Mt Hagen. Electronic copies can also be downloaded from the ICCC’s website.
