Over the weekend on Sunday saw the Madang Cricket Association (MCA) enter into round 5 of their pre-season matches which will conclude at the end of the month. The pre-season has seen 4 teams taking part; DWU Bullets, Digicel Friends, Guard Dog Security Services and Yabong Natives.
MCA President Hubert Kundia said they expect to see more clubs join after pre-season for the 2021 proper season. Cricket being a non-contact sport makes it very manageable in complying with COVID-19 regulations.
President Hubert Kundia said “so far we haven’t received or seen any interests shown by business houses after we wrote letters to quite a number of them, but we are doing our best to continue seeking sponsors or support from our business houses in the province.”
This Sunday will see the comp enter into the final round 6 before they go into their pre-season finals.
