Reducing violence against women means working together with communities and families, and providing better support to survivors.
This is why representatives from the Australian High Commission and FHI360, a nonprofit human development organisation, and East Sepik Provincial Health Authorities, were so pleased to launch the Kommuniti Lukautim Ol Meri and the Kisim Femili Plenin Stronim Kommunti projects in Maprik, East Sepik Province. We particularly acknowledge Maprik District Administrator Joshua Himina, FHI360 Country Director Daniel Tesfaye and the local community for joining the ceremony.
The projects aim to reduce the level of violence against women and girls and support survivors of violence, and to increase the uptake of modern family planning methods, especially for young women and men. These two projects are supported by the #PNGAusPartnership through the Pacific Women program.
