Central Governor Hon Robert Agarobe yesterday visited Gabagaba village to officiate the ground breaking of a new double classroom for the Gabagaba elementary and primary school. Received with a great reception by the students, Governor Agarobe said it was also his first time to hear PNG’s national anthem beautifully sung in Motu.
The double classroom was an initiative of the previous Provincial Government under Kila Haoda and as the current Governor he is ensuring their completion as government funds have already been spent on these projects.
Under his leadership, the Central Provincial Government will be footing the costs of construction and will be providing an Alaska sawmill as well to the ward member to manufacture desks by the community which Central Provincial Government will then pay for to furnish all the class rooms.
Speaking to the students, the Governor highlighted the new world now living with COVID-19 and into the future as the world is advancing very fast into the electronic and robotic world.
Agarobe then visited the United Church 21 Sinode Youth Council meeting also in Gabagaba where he encouraged them to carry on their good work and to work with the Provincial Plan.
He was able to meet up with Central Provincial repatriation team who were moving 335 of the Rigo Mount Brown and Mount Obri people back to their villages. He spoke to them about the Central Provincial Plan and the new normal and how they, as a province have to manage it.
