MRDC and its subsidiary Gas Resources PNG LNG Plant Limited (GRPNGLNG) delivered to the community in Rearea 25 dinghies and 25 outboard motors earlier this week.
Purchased at a cost of K660,000 through the Community Infrastructure Trust Fund (CITF), the boats will go to 19 clans in Rearea, including 2 for church and community use.
The outboard motors will go a long way in sustaining the livelihoods for the coastal villagers who fish for food and commercial activities.
To date MRDC has invested K7.5 million on development projects to the plant site villages.
