The Koroba Kopiago District Development Authority (KKDDA) in the Hela Province submitted its four year District Development Plan from (2019-2022) to the Secretary for National Planning Mr. Koney Samuel.
According to KKDDA, Preparations of the Development Plan were initially delayed due to the 2018 earthquake in Hela where both districts Koroba and Kopiago were severely hit hard with infrastructural damage. The challenge over the two years was to frame a plan to meet their restoration programs as well as align to the new MDTP III that was released late last year.
Present during the occassion was the KKDDA Chairman and Open Member Hon. Petrus Thomas and CEO Mr Johnson Tiki.
The rebuilding and restoration of infrastructure is gradually taking place and Open Member Hon. Petrus Thomas stated they have already achieved at least 30-40% of targets that are outlined in the plan.
Mr Thomas stated they are working closely with the Department of National Planning to properly implement plans and measure the deliverables towards 2022.
