Yangoru-Saussia District in the East Sepik Province through its DDA Board Meeting has approved initial funding for the immediate construction of a new Kubalia Station Water Supply System.
Lae-based NGO, Adventist Development & Relief Agency (ADRA) will build the system. ADRA is also working on the Nagum Secondary School water supply system.
The system when completed will supply the Kubalia Secondary School, Health Centre, Primary School, the LLG Chamber and all public servants residential areas.
This is part of the District’s efforts to reduce water-borne diseases and improve the lives of residents, families, students and teacher’s at Kubalia station as lean safe water is critical for improved quality of lifestyle and education.
The official hand over of the cheque payment to ADRA will happen next Tuesday the 27th of October to purchase the required materials and commence the project.
ADRA completed feasibility studies earlier in the year free-of-charge. The cost of the entire system for water supply and sanitation is K860,000.
This project is an integral part of our DDA WASH Program to have villages, schools, health posts and other institutions have access to good, clean and safe water and sanitation in line with the National WASH Policy 2016.
