The second National Youth Policy Interpretation workshop for the Highlands Region commenced this week at the Jiwaka Mission Resort in Banz, Jiwaka.
The workshop consists of 4 phases targeted for the four regions where the first workshop for the Southern Region took place in Alotau last month.
The focus of the workshop is to forge mutual collaboration and pragmatic partnership for implementation where will see youth programs active within the districts.
In the following four days key stakeholder agencies will present on development partners, NGOs, churches, youth councils and private sectors how best they will align their activities to complement the National Youth Policy 2020-2030.
National Youth Development Authority (NYDA) has also partnered Jimi DDA to conduct a capacity building training for youth leaders of the 3 LLGs in Jimi electorate.
One of the training component is basic financial literacy, which was delivered by BSP under a mutual relationship established last year.
NYDA facilitated for personal bank accounts to be opened for more than 20 youths, something which rural youths struggled on their own.
This is an exciting arrangement under which many youths will open their personal accounts, and youth SME accounts going forward.
We will replicate the same training to other districts.
