The Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League announced on Monday the Oil Search PNG Orchids team to take on the Brisbane Broncos Women’s team in Port Moresby on Saturday.
Oil Search Orchids Committee Executive Chairperson Ruth Waram said in a statement that the team comprises a number of young players as well as a few old faces.
Waram thanked the Brisbane Broncos Women’s Rugby League team for the opportunity to participate in this trial match – which should boost the Orchids preparation for remaining engagements for the year. The Oil Search PNG Orchids remaining events for the year are the Women’s Rugby League World Cup 9s in Sydney in October and the British Lions tour to PNG in November.
The Oil Search PNG Orchids team for this weekend’s trial match against the Brisbane Broncos Women will be coached by Pacific Games silver medal winning coach Bagello Solien.
