The Oil Search PNG Orchids have set up camp in Goroka ahead of this Saturday’s First Test against England.
Coach Bagelo Solien said most of the players arrived in the Eastern Highlands capital last Wednesday. He said this was an International Rugby League (IRL) sanctioned match and the first ever by the National Women’s team to be played outside of Port Moresby.
The England Women are scheduled to transit through Port Moresby from Brisbane to Goroka on Thursday November 7, 2019.
The first of the two Test match series kicks off at 2pm on Saturday November 9, 2019 at the National Sports Institute.
Meanwhile the PNG LNG Kumuls left Jacksons this morning, on the way to Christchurch via a Brisbane stopover.
PNG’s squad includes Rabbitohs fullback Alex Johnston, who played one Test for the Kangaroos in 2015 and has twice represented the Indigenous All Stars, now making his debut for the Kumuls.
The Kumuls are looking to upset the Fijians who have come off a convincing victory over Samoa last weekend.
The game kicks off at 2:20pm at Christchurch Stadium this Saturday 9th November.
