Edene Gebbie is now in training camp with the Wests Tigers NRL Club after completing quarantine in Brisbane and travelling to Sydney this week. Tigers coach Michael Maguire is excited with the potential Gebbie will add to the already blistering back-line which include James Roberts and Daine Laurie.
The 25-year-old PNG star has been given a lifeline by the Wests Tigers club since he returned to PNG after a short stint with the Rabbitohs in 2020. Edene has signed a train-and-trial deal and will be living in the Tigers’ accommodation near the club’s Concord HQ in Sydney.
The Tigers have an option in their favour for 2022 however Gebbie can be brought into the top grade earlier should there be an injury and he is able to repeat his PNG Hunters and Wynnum-Manly highlight performances.
