PNG Hunters Round 2 report & Round 3 lineup

Round 2 Report

The Northern Pride proved too strong for the PNG Hunters in Round 2 of the Intrust Super Cup on Sunday at the National Football Stadium, Port Moresby with a 24-0 win over the new look Hunters team.

For the second week in a row the Hunters were kept to no points, with crucial handling errors in their red zone plus consecutive penalties going against them that led to the Pride piling on more points through the game.

Pride’s tries came from Matthew Musumeci, William Bugden, Shawn Bowen and Jack Hampson, with Jake Clifford kicking four from five.

Although the Hunters forwards looked good through the game, there is huge improvement needed from the halves and backs if PNG are looking to turn things around in the next game at home again which sees them go up against their 2017 grand final opponents, the Sunshine Coast Falcons in the Rivalry Round.
