A midwifery basic up-skilling course has been conducted at Boram Hospital in Wewak, funded with the Friendship Grant from the Australian Government in partnership with the East Sepik Provincial Health Authority.

A total of 24 participants including nursing officers, midwives and community rural health workers from the remote districts within East Sepik province took part in the training. The course will ensure health professionals are kept abreast with the sexual and reproductive health of women.

Living Child Inc. Hopes for further funding support from stakeholders to ensure more vital training courses in the development and up-skilling of health professionals are held in the province.
