Bougainville Referendum polling underway

Polling for the Bougainville Referendum began successfully today, with many people turning up to cast their votes across Bougainville, as well as in Port Moresby.

ABG President Grand Chief Dr John Momis cast his vote at Bel Isi Park polling station in Buka witnessed by ABG Members and Ministers, as well as Sir Puka Temu, PNG Minister for Bougainville Affairs.

Peaceful polling was declared by BRC’s Chief Referendum Officer with successful voter turnout throughout Bougainville.

Polling in Nissan, Tasman and Mortlock Islands, Carterets and Nuguria will begin next week, as well as other locations outside PNG.
