PM calls for Vigilance and Unity in the fight against COVID-19

With the number of COVID-19 cases reaching 31 in PNG (As at Thursday 23 June 2020) with 19 of those cases presently active cases under quarantine, Prime Minister Hon James Marape has emphasised on the nation especially citizens residing in the nation’s capital to take the pandemic seriously and be vigilant with social distancing and sanitation. He stated via his Facebook page, “We not playing games or fun, neither politics or businesses, globally number has gone past 14 million infected with over 600,000 deaths. It has been rising every day.”

The government will be deploying police, soldiers and public servants to be stationed in different parts of NCD to help assist in the awareness, identification, isolation and curative strategies. They will assist the frontline medical workers.
