Raminai visits remote schools in district

Minister for Sports and Higher Education, Science, Research and Technology and Kagua Erave MP Hon. Wesley Raminai is currently visiting remote wards within his electorate paying a courtesy visit to schools in these remote locations before the 2021 school year begins.

Minister Raminai’s visit is to ensure educational services are reaching the schools and children in some of PNG’s most remote parts and to have a firsthand understanding of the challenges and issues. The locations visited has 9 council wards. Starting with Kerabi and ending on the boarder of Baimuru in the Gulf Province and Kele ward which borders Karamui in the Chimbu Province.

Through the District Development Authority (DDA), the Minster presented a K50,000 cheque to Wapisale Community School, K30,000 to Kele Elementary School, K30,000 to Wapisale Elementary School, K30,000 to Balowei Elementary school and K20,000 to Wapisale Health Sub-Centre.

Minister Raminai highlighting the importance of educational facilities especially in these remote villagers and wards and their funding is crucial for the 2021 education year.

Raminai also announced upcoming projects which will include the construction of several bridges and road works through the Kagua Erave DDA as well as upgrade to health and educational facilities and upgrade of the rural airstrips.
