On Tuesday May 2nd, 2023, a new physiotherapy clinic that provides counselling and sexual reproductive health (SRH) services was launched in Hohola, thanks to a partnership between Marie Stopes PNG (MSPNG) and Cheshire Disability Services PNG (CdSPNG).

The launch event, themed “Disability Rights & Reproductive Health: A Call for Inclusive Services,” was attended by MSPNG Country Director, Angelyn Famudi, CdSPNG General Manager, Benson Hahambu, and MSPNG External Relations Director, Anthony Nagul. During the event, Mr. Hahambu thanked all those who contributed to the realization of the new clinic and expressed hope that it would provide transformative services to people seeking community-based rehabilitation services and SRH programs.

Ms. Famudi emphasized the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in accessing crucial services in the country and expressed gratitude for the partnership with CdSPNG. Mr. Nagul highlighted the significance of the partnership and the clinic in providing specialized health services to persons with disabilities, their caregivers, and CdSPNG staff.

The launch event was attended by more than fifty people, including persons with disabilities, caretakers, families, friends, youth, students, teachers, media personnel, and staff from MSPNG and CdSPNG. Physiotherapy, CBR, and SRH services by CdSPNG and MSPNG began immediately after the program.
