The National Soccer League Board has approved to reopen another transfer window for players taking part in the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League this year with eight rounds remaining before the finals.
PNGFA acting NSL manager Dimirit Mileng said with the competition set to resume on the 1 August, the transfer window will be for seven days only and will be from 25-31 July.
“The Board has decided to open transfer window after considering number of requests made by clubs seeking a transfer window period to allow for players who have departed due to COVID-19 restrictions to be replaced by new players, said Mileng.
“Due to the current circumstances, the board considered it appropriate after some franchises requested for a third transfer window as their players had failed to return, leaving them without a complete roster,” he said.
Mileng said the Board’s decision to reopen another transfer window was in the best interest of the competition and everyone involved.
“Players currently not rostered with a club are eligible to be registered with a club and players currently registered with a club must get clearence note from former club prior to transfeering without cost.”
“Clubs must prepare the player transfer document in advance to avoid inconvenience at the close of the transfer window period,” said Mileng.
Mileng also request clubs to send in master list without delay before the close of business on 22 July and failure to submit, this will constitute a breach of requirement and further penalty will be imposed on the club.
