Nine high potential small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from across PNG are benefiting from the Techlab PNG Accelerator pilot program supported by the PNG–Australia Partnership.
The 12-month accelerator has been running since March and teaches businesses how to leverage cloud-based technologies to strengthen their products and services, with the aim of growing both PNG’s SME sector and the digital economy.
Two weeks of intensive training in Australia was a key part of the program, giving Papua New Guinean participants the opportunity to connect with and seek advice from Australian start-ups.
Techlab co-founder and business mentor, Matt Morrison, said “participants of the Techlab pilot have demonstrated the nascent capability that already exists in PNG. By helping unlock this potential, we expect to see each business progress, including viable prospects for investment.”
