  • Centre to be opened by Prime Minister Hon. James Marape.
  • Secretary for Department of Community Development Anna Bais and Hon. Pila Ninigi, Minister for Inter-Government Relations and Member for Imbonggu have met to clarify the importance of DCDC and how protection and empowerment services will reach villagers.

  • Bais said “We are structuring Community Development as Health and Education to ensure that the work of the department is really felt at the district where the people live.”
  • Minister Niningi encouraged other members and ministers to engage the people-centred DCDC project in their respective districts as well.
  • The DCDC building built at the cost of K4.2 million
  • Includes 30 bedroom transit house. 8 rooms self-contained, 22 standard.
  • The transit house to be used as a safe home in the longer term.
  • Meanwhile, both the Department and the District are looking forward to the grand Opening of the Centre by Prime Minister Hon. James Marape on the 27th of March, 2020.
