Polling for the Bougainville General Elections came to it’s final day yesterday, Tuesday 18th August 2020 which witnessed the Bougainville community residing in and around Port Moresby turn up to cast their votes.
Assistant Returning Officer Terence Hetinu said the 5 days of polling in the Nation’s capital was carried out without any major incidents.
There was still confusion with AROB citizens who voted during the Bougainville Referendum but found themselves not registered to vote for the 2020 General Election.
The polling in the NCD saw over two thousand registered voters cast their ballots as was anticipated by the Electoral Commission.
