The National Statistical Office (NSO), has announced that Structural Listing for the 2021 National Population and Housing Census will be carried out between 28th of January and 3rd of February 2021.
Structural Listing is mandatory for the 2021 census and is fundamental to compiling a list of household information to make way for the main census registration which will take place in July this year. This exercise serves as a checklist for quality and full coverage for the 2021 Census.
Census officials will be visiting homes between the 28th of January and the 3rd of February 2021, to conduct the basic listing in every province. The NSO is appealing to the general public for their full cooperation and accurate and truthful information.
The Census, conducted every Ten (10) years, is endorsed by the Government of PNG. Data collected through the census will form the baseline for our National, Provincial and Local Level Governments for efficient planning of development programs, effective policy making, precise services distribution and good governance for the next ten years.
