The township of Koroba in the Koroba-Kopiago district of the Hela Province is on the right path to meeting all the necessary requirements to make a formal bid to be declared an urban authority. Hela Governor Hon. Philip Undialu made this statement whilst attending a peace ceremony at Koroba station over the Easter weekend.
Governor Undialu was pleased that all major projects initiated by both the Koroba-Kopiago DDA and the Hela Provincial Government are on schedule to qualify Koroba to bid for Urban Authority.
Governor Undialu encouraged the people to embrace and take ownership of the developments that is being presented to them during these challenging and uncertain times.
With the Koroba District Court doing its rounds for the first time and the position for a Police Station Commander being advertised, law and order is crucial for Koroba, Kopiago and other districts in getting government services and delivery as well as create avenues for the province’s vast commercial potential which includes tourism.
