New Ireland Province Rugby Football League has confirmed its attendance for the New Guinea Islands Confederate Consultative Meeting initially scheduled for Saturday June 19 in Kokopo, East New Britain Province.
A team comprising of league presidents accompanied by representatives from the Office of Community Development, Kavieng and Namatanai District Administrations, Kavieng & Namatanai District Sports Councils, Provincial Sports Office, and the New Ireland Provincial Administration, have confirmed their travel to Kokopo for the meeting.
New Ireland Rugby Football League’s, COO, Ben Lenturut has said that the meeting will provide opportunity for existing and newly established leagues in the NIP to see and learn from other well established leagues in the region and most importantly strengthen regional corporation and partnerships. Mr Lenturut also acknowleged and thanked the New Ireland Government for its undivided support.
Part of the round table discussions will be aimed at providing awareness and understanding of the PNGRFL’s Governance reform, aptly titled the “New Ireland Model” as well as game operational updates will see representatives from across the region as well as stakeholders from other sectors of the community.
