The Tsak Valley Rural On Grid Extension Projects in Enga Province continues to move forward, with PNG Power Ltd seeking expressions of interest for the supply of materials for construction of the power lines — a positive outcome for PNG from APEC 2018. This announcement was posted via the facebook page of the Member for Wapenamanda Hon. Rimbink Pato.
He gave further acknowledgement for the power line construction project which comes under the PNG Electrification Partnership, with development partners, Australia, New Zealand, Japan & USA.
The US$1.5 Billion APEC Rural Electrification Partnership for PNG is a target to provide energy to 70% of the population by 2030.
The Mr Pato stated that he is actively pursuing both the Hydro and Enga Rural Electrification Projects at all levels, and assured all interested parties that they remain key priority projects for the District.
He welcomed the latest developments and is looking forward to PNG Power finalising a decision on awarding of the main contract for the power lines construction as soon as possible.
According to PNG Power Ltd’s website, submissions for Registration of Interest (ROI) close at 4:00 PM on Friday 07th August, 2020 at PNG Power Ltd.’s National Office, Port Moresby.
