PNGNRLC Manager Stanley Hondina in a statement said that due to the 14- day lockdown in Port Moresby, a submission had been forwarded on Tuesday July 28, 2020 to the National Pandemic.
Controllers Office through the PNG Sports Foundation on additional precautionary measures for teams playing in Port Moresby to observe.
Mr Hondina said the four Port Moresby based teams – Moni Plus NCDC Port Moresby Vipers, Kroton Hela Wigmen, PRK Gulf Isou and Central Dabaris – have moved into camp for isolation from the public.
These are additional measures taken to ensure the game is in compliance with the orders issued and protection of all in light of transmitting the disease. “These additional measures include transportation to and from camps and airports for all teams, no visitors by anybody to their camps and strict health checks,” Hondina said.
He said no spectators will be allowed to the games in Port Moresby. “In the event we get approval by tomorrow (Friday) morning, Round 5 of Digicel Cup competition will proceed this weekend as per draws,” Hondina said.
