Hiri West Rugby League gets High Performance Clinic

PNG LNG Kumuls coach and Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) High Performance (HP) Manager Michael Marum conducted a three-day coaching and training clinic at Papa village outside Port Moresby which ended today, made possible by ExxonMobil PNG.

The clinic is the second conducted so far, with the first one held in Komo in the Hela province earlier this year. Part of Marum’s team was Elsie Albert, the current PNG Orchids Captain and St George player for the NRLW; the NRL Women’s Premiership competition in Australia.

Coach Marum emphasised on getting back to basics which is what the HP clinics are focused on as they are the foundations of proper rugby league development. He also acknowledged the talent and potential within Papa village and the surrounding local communities as well as their contribution of representatives that have put on PNG Kumuls jersey in the past.
